The hospitality group “Accor,” based in France, offers “Mercure” hotels, which are designed to provide travelers around the world with the experience of “Local Inspired Hotels” (hotels that cherish local inspiration) through design and cuisine. These hotels are expanding globally.
The design concept of Mercure Kyoto Station is “Heian-kyo, Aristocratic Play.”Inspired by the fact that this land was once part of the Heian-kyo, motifs such as fans, koto, kemari, and Hyakunin Isshu, which were pastimes of the aristocrats during the Heian period, are scattered throughout the design. The moment you step into the hotel, you will be enveloped in the luxurious and elegant atmosphere of an era when nobles lost track of time indulging in their pastimes, allowing you to enjoy a journey that transcends time.
